Legend Of
Mothman
The legend
of the Mothman begins in the sleepy town
of Point
Pleasant,
West
Virginia, which has
been troubled for years by eerie sightings of a “six to
seven foot tall man-shaped creature with wings” since
1964. The 1st official recorded sighting of the Mothman was by a woman
and her dad driving down Route 2 near the
Ohio
River when a
man-shaped creature with blood-red eyes jumped onto the
road in front of them, spread out his 2 colossal wings
and then flew away.
The mothman
legend even grew stronger when one account has over
a hundred sightings of The Mothman along with flying saucers
(UFOs) and other out of the ordinary occurrences happening
just prior to the tragic collapse of The Silver Bridge near
Point Pleasant on December 15, 1967.
Mothman in
reality has nothing to do with actually moths. Once an
individual encounters a Mothman, all he/she typically
ascertains is a blackened figure with wings and large
blood-red eyes.
